Conditions of Entry

The theme is open with the exhibition title being Palette of Possibilities, so let your creativity run wild. 

The following mediums will be accepted. Oils, acrylics, watercolours, mixed media, mosaics, pastels, gouache, drawings (all kinds, pencils, ink, charcoal etc), photography (AI may be used to enhance it, however the work may not be created solely with AI).

In addition, sculptures will be accepted (subject to size and availability of space) as well as video submissions that will be then shown on our AV system during the period of the exhibition.

Video submissions must be supplied on a USB drive and may not be longer than 10 minutes total running length.
All artworks must be the original work of the artist submitting it.

Entries may not exceed a total of 1 metre width (this includes triptychs) , including the frame and a maximum height of 1.3 metres. The total weight of any artworks being hung on the wall may not exceed 3KG.
Due to space constraints the number of entries for artworks, is capped at 50. 
Triptychs are permitted, however as per above the total width of the entire Triptych, including frame/frames may not exceed 1m total width.
*Please note if an artwork is submitted as a triptych, it MUST only be able to be purchased as one item. Each part of the triptych cannot be available for purchase separately.
It is a first come 1st serve basis, so make sure you get your entry in early!

The cut off for entries is the Sunday the 13th of July and artworks MUST be dropped off at the gallery on Sunday the 20th of July between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
Artworks must be picked up if not sold, on Sunday the 31st of August between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
The exhibition of entries will be from the 24th of July through to the 31st of August. 

There will be an official opening on Friday the 25th of July at 6pm to 8pm at the gallery. Light refreshments will be served.

The entry fee is $20 for members and $28 for non-members and $10 for Concession holders who are members of the gallery. 

One entry per artist is permitted
Artworks that have been entered into one of the gallery’s SALA exhibitions in the past, may not be entered again. Only artworks that have not previously been exhibited in a SALA exhibition at the Gawler Community Gallery will be accepted.

Artwork Submission Requirements.
The artwork must be display ready (if it is an artwork that is to be hung), with generous sized D-rings and hanging wire (not too tight please) fixed to the frame/ stretched canvas and the identification label securely attached to the back of the artwork.

An artwork identification label MUST be completed for each artwork and securely attached to the back of the artwork. Artwork labels are available in the gallery in the plastic box labelled LABELS in the office or can be downloaded from our website on the call out for entries page.

Only artworks that can be hung on the wall will be accepted. (except sculptures and videos). Frames and glass must be clean and undamaged.

Please note, all artwork must be for sale.

In the unlikely event an artwork is not approved for the exhibition, the artist will be notified and their entry fee refunded.
Artworks that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted. Please note that the work must be for sale. 

Due care will be taken by Gawler Community Gallery in receiving, storing, and presenting any artwork submitted by artists for display. However, it is solely the responsibility of the artist to ensure that their artwork is insured, and the gallery accepts no liability for any damage or loss incurred by the artist.

By submitting your entry, you give permission for Gawler Community Gallery to use photos of your artwork for publication & or advertising purposes, such as social media, website, and general promotions of this exhibition (only this exhibition).

Furthermore by submitting your entry for this exhibition, YOU AGREE TO BE ROSTERED ON for a minimum of two periods. (Please talk to us if you are unable to do this and we will try and find a solution).
