Exhibition Expression of Interest
The Gawler Community Gallery welcomes Expressions of Interest from visual artists seeking to exhibit in our gallery space.
We are committed to supporting a diverse exhibition program that showcases emerging and established artists working across a range of visual art mediums.
Exhibitions typically run for six weeks.
Availability is limited due to our programmed exhibition calendar, so we encourage applicants to submit an Expression of Interest well in advance.

What We Look For
Exhibition proposals are assessed against a range of considerations, including:

Artistic merit and quality

Suitability for the gallery space

Audience engagement opportunities

Diversity within the annual exhibition program

Availability within the exhibition calendar
Fees
-
$350 - standard exhibition fee
-
$150 - concession rate for members who joined on or before 30 June 2026 (FY26)*
*New members joining from FY27 (1 July 2026) onward pay the standard $350 rate.
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required within 7 days of your booking being confirmed, with the balance payable at least 30 days prior to installation.
Commission on Sales
All artworks exhibited must be available for purchase. A commission of 25% is retained by the Gallery on all sales made during the exhibition.
Exhibition Opening
Each exhibition includes an opening event. Exhibitors may organise and fund their own opening, or the Gallery can host a modest opening on their behalf for a fee of $150.
Exhibition Information
Successful applicants will be given access to the Gallery for installation and deinstallation in accordance with the agreed exhibition schedule.
Gallery volunteers will assist with installation where possible, and will support promotion of the exhibition through our usual marketing channels.
Exhibitors are required to volunteer for one gallery shift per week during their exhibition (i.e. six shifts), alongside our regular volunteer roster.

Assessment Process
Submission of an Expression of Interest does not guarantee an exhibition booking.
Expressions of Interest are reviewed by the Gallery Committee. Applicants may be contacted to provide additional information or discuss their proposal further.

The Gallery provides:

Exhibitor Responsibilities
The exhibitor is responsible for:

Transporting artworks to and from the Gallery
-
Insurance of artworks
-
Providing artwork information by the required deadlines

Installing work with Gallery staff
-
Attending the exhibition opening
